15 mins Welcome Senior Management, Protection Advisor or Protection Officer as appropriate
30 mins - Introduction to the Workshop Program objectives and methodology
- Introduction of Participants
- Participants' expectations
- Introduction to the week and acquaint with the participants.
- Objectives and Overview of the course
60 mins Module 2: Introduction to child rights - A brief overview of child rights - Note that not all countries will require this but in some context is an appropriate introduction.
- Some countries may find it useful to ensure that participants are aware of the appropriate local legislation and its implementation
30 mins Break
60 mins Module 3: Affects on Children of Armed Conflict - An interactive way to ensure that persons involved in MRM have a sound understanding of the affects of armed conflict on children
75 mins Module 4A: Introduction to UNSC Resolutions and the MRM - A session on the background of MRM, 1612, 1882 & 1998 and appropriate relevant aspects
60 mins Lunch
75 mins Module 4B: MRM Definitions and the Legal Foundation - An interactive presentation on definitions and the legal basis for MRM
30 mins Break
75 mins Module 16: Roles and Responsibilities - An opportunity to increase understanding of other organisations' roles and responsibilities in relation to MRM and to enhance how we work together.
15 mins Wrap-up and evaluation - Comments on the day and reminder of requirements for the following day
- Ask participants to complete evaluation sheet for the day (see sample at end of the Toolkit).

30 mins Review from Day One and "What do you know" quiz - A fun way to review learning from the previous day - this can be sourced in Module D Training Materials sub-folder 
75 mins Module 5: Political Aspects of MRM - A brief look at roles and responsibilities at national and global levels

60 mins Module 6: Guiding Principles - An interactive presentation and an activity to understand dilemmas faced in the implementation of monitoring function
30 mins Module 8A: Introduction to Monitoring for MRM - A short session that introduces the basics of monitoring - what, who, where etc.
60 mins Module 8B: Information Gathering - The Basics Part One - A participatory presentation to understand the principles of information gathering
  Lunch  
90 mins Module 8C: Documentation Part 1 - Understanding a reporting format - ideally the format that is used in the country context
30 mins Break
90 mins Module 9: The Basics of Information Management - Participatory exercise to provide an introduction to information management
15 mins Wrap-up of Day Two

60 mins Module 8D: Interviewing Children & Witnesses - Part Two - Role play on interviewing children and witnesses
45 mins Module 8D: Interviewing Children & Witnesses - Part Three - Review key points on interviewing

90 mins Module 8C: Documentation Part 2 - How well can participants interview and document when in the field
60 mins Module 17 Caring for Staff - Importantly to consider how we care for ourselves and others in this difficult and often sensitive area of work
30 mins Break
60 mins Module 10: Security - A participatory presentation on security and sharing of experiences related to security
30 mins Module 8E: Information Gathering Scenario: briefing and interview planning - Module 8D consists of a large scale exercise involving all participants
- This session provides the briefing and initial planning for the exercise
15 mins Wrap-up and evaluation of the day - You may chose to have this session prior to the previous to allow participants to spend as long as they wish on planning for tomorrow's exercise

90 mins Module 8E: Information Gathering Scenario: Practical Information Gathering - Interviews & Reporting - The major part of an activity that involves information gathering in a large scale exercise

30 mins Module 8E: Information Gathering Scenario: Evaluation - Groupwork evaluations of the exercise and lessons learnt
90 mins Module 8E: Plenary Session - Plenary discussion on the exercise and lessons learnt
60 mins Lunch
90 mins Module 14C: Advocacy Response - This session will provide an introduction to advocacy
30 mins Break
30 mins Open Forum - An opportunity to raise any outstanding questions or areas for discussion
15 mins Wrap-up and closing of the training.
